Dental hygienists are primary oral health care professionals who recommend and provide preventive and therapeutic clinical care, education, and health promotion to help improve oral health.  They form the sixth largest regulated health profession in Canada with 29,549 practitioners. The New-Brunswick Dental Hygienists’ Association represents over 500 dental hygienists who work in dental hygiene clinics, hospitals, educational facilities, residential care facilities and dental offices across the province. Dental hygienists in this province are regulated by the New-Brunswick College of Dental Hygiene.
